LaWall, Barbara, Pima County Attorney, was the 2006 chair of the board of directors for the American Prosecutors Research Institute (APRI). APRI is a national organization that serves as a resource center for research, development, technical assistance, and training on the practices of the prosecutorial profession. Ms. LaWall has served on the Domestic Violence and parental Kidnapping Advisory Board for the APRI as well as the Response to Terrorism Work Group; from 1998-2000 she served as chair of the statewide Arizona Criminal Justice Commission; she has served as a member of the Governor’s Commission on Violence against Women and as a member of the board of governors for the Arizona Women Lawyers Association; currently she serves as Chair of the Governor’s Methamphetamine Task Force; she is a member and former vice president of the National District Attorneys Association; she is the former education committee chair of the Southern Arizona DUI Task Force.
