photo of Barbara LaWallThe criminal justice system can be a complicated maze to navigate. It is my privilege to provide you with the resources on this web page to assist you.

The job of the Pima County Attorney is to see that the laws of the State of Arizona are faithfully executed and enforced. As public prosecutors, we uphold the Constitution by serving the courts and you. We are your advocates. We represent the legal interests of the community as we prosecute violations of state laws that occur within Pima County and promote public safety. We serve as a driving force for many programs which reduce crime, protect innocent victims, and enhance the quality of life in our community.

Though our primary responsibility is upholding the criminal laws of this state, we also give legal advice to the county, collect bad checks, promote rehabilitation for drug and alcohol abusers, assist crime victims, offer numerous crime prevention programs, including an anonymous tip hotline for reporting illegal activity (88-Crime), and act as the legal representatives for Pima County.

Please do not hesitate to contact me or Isabel Burruel-Smutzer, my Executive Assistant, at (520) 740-5622 (Office) with any feedback on this web site.

Sincerely,

Barbara LaWall
Pima County Attorney
