TUCSON, ARIZONA- Allerton will lead PCAO 88-Crime’s efforts throughout Pima County to help address community concerns, support local law enforcement, and increase the overall safety of the community.
“James will be a fantastic asset to our 88-Crime and communications team,” said Pima County Attorney Laura Conover. “His law enforcement background, devotion as a chaplain, and well-known connection and love for the people of Pima County will help us grow in our efforts to reach more people in our community. The importance of 88-Crime has never been more felt, perhaps, than now. Our community needs a safe, anonymous, and bilingual way to report crime and seek assistance. I know James shares these priorities with me.”
Although new to this role, Allerton is no stranger to the Pima County community. Allerton’s 20 years of law enforcement experience with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the Tucson Airport Authority Police Department have kept him working hand in hand with, and for, the Pima County community. During his career in Law Enforcement, he has served as a patrol deputy, a detective assigned to narcotics and general investigations units, a border crime unit detective, a uniformed chaplain, and a public information officer.
“The highlight of this journey hasn’t just been the work—it’s been the people,” Allerton said. “I’ve been honored to stand beside the brave men and women of Southern Arizona’s law enforcement community. You have my lifelong respect and support.”
“James’ addition represents a significant advancement as we continue to grow and amplify the impact of the 88-CRIME program within our communities,” said 88-Crime Board President Bill Fleming. “We are confident that James’s leadership, professionalism, and passion for crime prevention will further strengthen our efforts to aid law enforcement, support victims, and empower our community to take an active role in reducing crime.”
