An intense week at the People's Office

#WeekInJustice: Week 189

It was an intense week at the People’s Office.

While the overall crime rate, especially in violent crimes is holding steady on the sharp decline from the COVID-era peak, it was a bad week for pedestrians and drivers involved in fatal accidents, gun violence, and most especially the widespread harm that was caused by social media threats against schools. There have been four arrests so far, and we are collaborating with law enforcement on just outcomes. One thing is clear. Threatening school violence is completely unacceptable. If your child has access to social media, now is the time to sit them down for a serious talk. Kids need to REPORT threats, not REPOST threats.

88-Crime won two NATIONAL awards, and we can’t wait to tell that story in the coming days.

This morning at the US Attorney’s Office (the federal prosecutor’s office) all federal partners gathered again to trade intelligence and also to continue preparations for a safe, calm election process.

To be continued…
