Lots of positivity in the office this week

#WeekInJustice: Week 194

On Wednesday, we received a heartfelt letter from a community member following a difficult trial. The letter’s author shared that there were many years her granddaughters suffered before they were able to report their abuse. She expressed her admiration for SVU prosecutor Lacee Collins and SVU Chief Brad Roach, highlighting their impressive performance during the trial and noting that her family is continuing their healing process. Lacee’s star continues to rise here at PCAO, and moments like these are particularly meaningful for Brad, who began his remarkable career in SVU and has returned to lead this vital division.

In other news, our February 2024 hires are finally here! These new attorneys have graduated, passed the Bar, and cleared character and fitness requirements. It’s an exciting time to be in the building! We are close to reaching our maximum capacity of 61 prosecutors, which is a far cry from the 88 prosecutors we need to restore funding that was cut during the COVID era. We’re actively working on this!

In the Civil division, Yvette Patterson achieved a major win in employment law, marking a quick success since joining us after a long career in Pinal County. We’re thrilled to have her on board!

The building seems to have a special glow this week. After delivering Halloween Boo Grams, we decided to create a Thankful Tree in the lobby. Notes of gratitude are now falling like autumn leaves throughout our 20-floor building.
