Pima County took decisive action by filing suit to recover $12 million in unpaid federal invoices, protecting our community’s resources.

There are so many things we could report on about this week, from another set of jury wins to a deep dive with the Children’s Advocacy Center on prevention and accountability progress for children at risk for violence, to lots and lots of budget talk.

But I would be remiss if I didn’t say that filing suit against the current federal administration this morning wasn’t a major development. 

The Department of Homeland Security hasn’t paid the County their final invoices from last year, to the tune of 12 million dollars. 

That’s a heck of a lot of taxpayer money here in our hardworking and humble community.  The Board of Supervisors directed us to file suit, and this morning we did just that.  The County’s statement is here:
