#WeekInJustice: Week 249
It was an active week here at the People’s Office as we made our way out into the community to connect with all of you to help build a better Pima County.
We kicked off the week at Cyclovia, where thousands of cyclists passed by the table we shared with the Pima County Health Department. Some of you stopped by to ask questions, and we were excited to meet all of you.
County Attorney Conover and Chief Criminal Deputy Josh Moser made a couple of stops at the University of Arizona Law School this week to talk to students about the critical role of prosecutors, types of prosecutors, and to clear up misconceptions about the justice system.
We rounded out the week with Laura presenting our annual report at the State of the Southwest Regional Breakfast in Vail.
She discussed the latest crime statistics, PCAO initiatives, and what our office is doing to help make our community a safer and healthier place to live.
National Crime Victims’ Rights Week begins on April 19; this year’s theme is “Listen.” Act. Advocate. Protect victims, serve communities.
As part of our efforts here at PCAO, Laura sat down with Victim Advocates Nicole Morin and Serafin Caraballo for a People’s Office Podcast episode to talk about how they do their part to help victims navigate some of the most difficult times of their lives. She also spoke to them about how they make sure to care for themselves so they can be effective in their work while handling vicarious trauma.
