Tucson Juneteenth Celebration
The Pima County Attorney’s Office and Chief Civil Deputy Sam E. Brown joined the 2026 Juneteenth celebration June 20 at the Kino Sports Complex.
Standing together in unity, community members, including Governor Katie Hobbs, Representative Adelita S. Grijalva, Mayor Regina Romero, Tucson Ward 5 Council Member Selina Barajas, Supervisor Rex Scott and Pima County Recorder Gabriella Cázares-Kelly, joined the 161st anniversary celebration.
The event is held annually to increase knowledge and appreciation of the roles, achievements and contributions of African Americans to our society, and to pay tribute to this important milestone in our nation’s history.

88-Crime Updated Arrests Report
88-Crime Program Reports 83 Arrests and Significant Recoveries in Fiscal Year Results
TUCSON, Ariz. — The 88-Crime Program reported strong public safety outcomes for the recent fiscal year, highlighting the continued impact of community collaboration with law enforcement agencies across Southern Arizona.
Anonymous tips submitted through 88-Crime directly supported investigative efforts, resulting in 83 arrests and 104 cases cleared. In addition, tips contributed to the recovery of $38,040 in stolen property, $40,165 in illegal drugs, and nine firearms.
The program approved $55,600 in rewards to tipsters, all funded through private donations, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to incentivizing safe, anonymous reporting.
88-Crime partners closely with the Pima County Attorney’s Office to ensure information is rapidly routed to the appropriate investigative agencies, strengthening case resolution efforts across the region.
Case Impact Overview
• Fugitive Cases: 30 cases involving individuals wanted for serious offenses, including homicide, aggravated assault, firearms violations, and human smuggling
• Narcotics Cases: 6 cases involving drug sales and distribution
• Violent Crime Cases: 2 homicides and 1 sexual assault
• Other Cases: 1 hit-and-run and numerous additional felony investigations
