TUCSON, ARIZONA – April 7, 2021 –  Pima County Attorney Laura Conover has received a grant award from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to support her efforts to modernize the Pima County Attorney’s Office (PCAO) through the purchase and implementation of a paperless case management system.

Highway-related criminal charges, including DUI and Criminal Traffic Offenses, make up an average of 23 percent of all criminal charges prosecuted by PCAO in Superior and Justice Courts. These charges are directly related to the mission of the Governor’s DUI enforcement and highway safety efforts. The grant award of $253,000 will be used to cover 23 percent of the costs for purchase and implementation of a paperless case management system that interfaces and receives data from law enforcement and the Courts.

“There has long been a desire to modernize PCAO, and I am proud to say this administration will take the Office paperless as part of our commitment to a more efficient, cost-effective, and outcomes-driven prosecutorial agency,” Ms. Conover said. “We are grateful for the assistance from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to help us achieve this.”
