Lives that will forever be cherished and never forgotten.

#WeekInJustice: Week 124

This morning Laura and I visited the Pima County Sheriff’s Department as they held their Annual Law Enforcement Memorial for 14 law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.  Lives that will forever be cherished and never forgotten. Local leaders including Pima County Administrator Jan Lesher spoke to those who came to show their support on the special day.

Now let’s lighten things up a bit. Our team has been getting lots of accolades recently and it’s so wonderful to see it happen.  Along with winning challenging and very public court cases, our administrative staff is also getting the recognition they deserve. Legal Assistants Megan Gallagher and Katy Brunson were both nominated at the 2023 APAAC Annual Legal Assistant Conference today in Phoenix. Megan was listed as a Legal Assistant of the Year nominee and Katy for the Legal Assistant Lifetime Achievement Award. We wish these ladies the best of luck on their nominations!!

BTW…Just in case you missed it Laura, Mayor Regina Romero and Board of Supervisors Chair Adelita Grijalva wrote an op-ed for the Arizona Daily Star about the state of homelessness, crime, and solutions for change in our region. Here’s the link and we’re in conversations about writing more for the paper.

One more thing! Our team set-up shop at the Utterback Block Party last weekend. It was a great time with some awesome people who stopped by our table.  We also had some enlightening and fruitful conversations about what we do with the community to make Pima County a better place to live. Thank you to the volunteers who took time out of their day to work the table. You can see our Facebook post here. Until next week!

Be Well!
