In Memoriam: Susan Eazer

#WeekInJustice: Week 114

PCAO lost a former long-time prosecutor and celebrated her life this week.  Baird Greene, our Chief Deputy who got to work with her, has penned a remembrance of Sue Eazer that we will now share here and has been placed on the PCAO website.

We continue to send our condolences to Sue’s family:

In Memoriam

Susan Eazer, September 14, 1962 to January 23, 2023.

The Pima County Attorney’s Office honors Susan Eazer’s years of service, an extraordinary prosecutor who served the citizens of Pima, Pinal, and Yavapai Counties for nearly 30 years. Sue was a long-time employee of the Pima County Attorney’s Office, working as both a legal assistant, and after law school, as a trial lawyer. Sue also prosecuted in both Pinal and Yavapai Counties.

Sue was the embodiment of a devoted prosecutor: she gave her all to defend and give voice to the oppressed and harmed, especially to children who were subjected to the most heinous physical and sexual abuse. During her long legal career, Sue prosecuted sexual assaults, homicides, and the most complex and serious crimes.  She handled hundreds of other criminal matters.

Sue was both the recipient of the APAAC Prosecutor of the Year Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award. Because of her life’s work, countless victims and survivors live in a much better place.
