The Civil Department's Noble Commitment to Representing Our Community.

#WeekInJustice: Week 116

At the end of our first year, we produced a Year End Report to try to cover all the momentous points of the year.  Not surprisingly, the Criminal Unit took more of a highlight for 2021.  If you haven’t yet seen the new 2022 report, you can CLICK HERE, and you’ll see that the Civil Unit took up a slight majority of the reporting out to the community for our second report.

To just give you a flavor of the work of the day in the Civil Division of PCAO:

  • The Business Transactions Unit remains in collaboration with the Tohono O’odham Nation on our new Inter Governmental Agreement to specially deputize tribal prosecutors,
  • The Public Records Department participated in 3 different court briefs, and
  • The Health Law Unit began preparations to brief the Arizona Supreme Court on reproductive health.

Thank goodness they are fully and robustly staffed. (Pictured above)

Approaching the occasion of Chief Civil Deputy Sam Brown’s own two-year mark, the entire Division decided to do a “renewal of vows” of sorts.

In expressing their noble commitment to representing our community to the very best of their ability, first the staff took the oath of office and then the attorneys. Look at this beautiful, dedicated group!

To be continued,
