PCAO Civil Attorneys provide legal advice for BOS and County Administrator.

#WeekInJustice: Week 132

The last two weeks have been monumental for our Civil Division here at PCAO. Remember, we are also the County’s attorney, that our civil law firm represents the interests of the County, provides legal advice to the Board of Supervisors, the County Administrator, and all County Departments.

A number of contracts came up for renewal in recent days, and several departments realized they wanted our Office to do a new legal review before the renewal deadline.

Those renewal deadlines were due in 48 hours. And they weren’t small contracts.

They were…. Microsoft, Go Daddy, and other critical business agreements that keep the County running. It was a no-fail situation, and Civil stepped up. Bobby Yu and Rachelle Barr of our Business Transactions Unit dropped everything to pull this Herculean task off successfully. One of them left at 10pm and returned at 6am twice. The other stayed the night.

Cindy Nguyen and Kyle Johnson picked up all of Bobby and Rachelle’s work on top of their own to keep all the rest of the legal work of the County humming. It was a good example of collaborative work to reach an important goal, and I think it’s a good recognition that the County is so well served by dedicated, brilliant, humble attorneys keeping the waters of Pima County calm.

Speaking of water, please San Juan de Bautista, send the rain.
