#WeekInJustice: Week 143
We had a good number of media visitors from both tv and newspaper over the past week and Laura sat down with them to have “Ask Me Anything” sessions. The meetings were insightful and a good way to communicate our public records polices and discuss the important issues and topics that affect our community.
The meetings included an in-depth one on one interview with Telemundo Reporter Jesus Gonzalez you can see the story here.
Laura and Brad stopped by the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law to speak to law students about criminal law and policies. Speakers who participate come from a variety of criminal practice areas and experience levels to share their wisdom. This was a moment of joy for Laura because she was on the founding advisory board of this event from its inception. Laura reviewed some new highlights out of The People’s Office and then turned things over to Brad who spoke to the group about the structure and work of the Conviction and Sentencing Integrity Unit. The event is part of a weekly speaker series during the lunch hour.
AND Midvale Park Neighborhood’s National Night Out runs from 3:30p-6:30p tonight at Grijalva Elementary School. They will have free ice cream and music. It’s a great way to build relationships between the community and law enforcement to help make our communities a safer place to live. It’s also a cool way to get to know your neighbors!!
Until next week.
Be Well!
