Court of Appeals Judge Bill Brammer to run our Appeals Division

#WeekInJustice: Week 152

One of the challenges in the law is the time it takes to be fully prepared.

This is never more true than when a lawyer argues before a higher court.

Before Civil Chief Sam Brown argues before the Arizona Supreme Court on Tuesday, weeks of dedicated preparation will have occurred. And all of that work will fly by in a matter of minutes, standing at the podium in front of the Justices.  In addition to both quiet preparation and moot courts (like dress rehearsals) described above, this week also saw a group of 30 district attorneys from across the nation come into town, in part to study the Crisis Response Center. I am grateful for the CRC every day, but I was especially reminded this week that having a hospital that will never turn a patient away, no matter how ill they are, remains revolutionary for our community.

And speaking of revolutionary, the hiring of retired former Court of Appeals Judge Bill Brammer to run our Appeals Division was a top highlight. We couldn’t be more excited for the new year.   Here’s the link on that press release.
