#WeekInJustice: Week 158
- The Arizona Legislature is in full swing, and a number of criminal justice bills are under consideration. Once again, I find myself at times as a lone voice calling for data to support positions taken, and when I can offer the State that data from Pima County, I can and will.
- We received a visit from the high-level officials at the Department of Justice who manage Tucson’s participation in the Public Safety Partnership. We discussed:
o Intensive Diversion for high-risk youth
o Hospital Based Violence Interruption by credible messengers
o And we got to show off our newly launched Adult Restorative Justice program
- This morning (pictured here with Officer James Allerton who gave a blessing,) hundreds of First Responders attended a prayer breakfast. As the sister of law enforcement, I was especially glad to join and pray for a safe and healthy year.
- And last, when I arrived downtown this morning, several students at City High (pictured at the top) had decided to use their morning break to wish downtown drivers a happy day and lots of love. Made my day. Hope this picture makes your day too.
To be continued,
