Honoring Women's History Month

#WeekInJustice: Week 165

We are honoring Women’s History Month here at The People’s Office by reminding the community of the risks that both Pima County Attorney Dennis DeConcini and Pima County Attorney Barbara LaWall took when they normalized violent prosecutions led by female attorneys. That just wasn’t done in that era. We are also working on the next episode of “The People’s Office Podcast,” where I’m planning to interview the daughters and granddaughters of extraordinary Tucson women. If you have a suggestion, be sure to let Shawndrea know!

On the budget and finance side of the house, I am furiously working to finalize our February hires and to secure budgetary exceptions from the County to continue to hire both new and deeply experienced prosecutors.  Tuesday should be a momentous step forward on that front.

To be continued,

Laura
